United Nations: UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres has thanked India for coming forward to provide two lakh Kovid 19 vaccine vaccines free of cost to UN (UN) peacekeeping forces. Addressing a UN Security Council meeting on Wednesday, External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar announced that two lakh doses of vaccine would be given to peacekeepers as a reward. On behalf of Guterres, his spokesman Stephen Dujarric thanked India for the decision. There are currently 94,484 UN peacekeepers from 121 countries.
