KABUL: Three female journalists working for local radio and TV stations in eastern Afghanistan were killed on Tuesday, the Islamic State group said on Wednesday. Many people attended the funeral of these three bodies. Police have arrested a man named Quarry Basser in Jalalabad on suspicion of committing the murders. The accused is accused of being a Taliban. However, Taliban spokesman Jabihullah Mujahid denied the allegations. The militants claimed that the three women had been targeted because they were working in secular Afghan government-affiliated media outlets. This is not the first time women journalists have been attacked. Fifteen media journalists, including three, have been killed in the past six months.
