It’s official: it is now possible to buy a Tesla with Bitcoin

Elon Musk announced on Twitter that it is now possible to buy a Tesla brand vehicle with bitcoin. In February, Tesla announced an investment of $ 1.5 billion in bitcoin and caused the cryptocurrency’s value to skyrocket and reach a new high.

Now, and as previously anticipated, the founder and leader of the electric car giant announces that Tesla customers can now buy cars using cryptocurrencies.

According to DN, for now the option is only available in the United States, but the CEO (who recently announced his title change to Technoking) says that the possibility will reach the rest of the world “later this year ”.

To make payment via cryptocurrencies possible, Tesla reveals that it is using both internal software and open source software.

Currently the value of a bitcoin is almost enough to buy one Tesla Model 3 cheaper than, in Portugal, due to taxes, it costs 50 thousand euros.

The value of a bitcoin is now around 47 thousand euros.

You tweets of Musk in favor of cryptocurrencies and bitcoin have helped drive the price up in recent weeks – skyrocketed 142% in the last three months.

Tesla’s stock market value has also been rising, up 515% in the last year (down 6.5% in the last month).
