President of the Chamber of Deputies broke the silence about the Pocketnarist demonstrations in a statement to the press
One day after the president’s attacks Jair Bolsonaro to the Federal Supreme Court (STF) and to the minister Alexandre de Moraes, member of the Court, the president of the Chamber of Deputies, Arthur Lira (PP-AL), stated that the Brazilian Constitution “will never be torn down” and that he will talk to all the Powers. “It’s time to put a stop to this climb, in an infinite negative loop. Bravado on social networks, videos and an eternal platform stopped being a virtual element and started to impact the daily life of Brazil for real. The Brazil that sees gasoline reaching 7 reais, the dollar overvalued and the reduction of expectations. A crisis that, unfortunately, is oversized in social networks, which, despite amplifying democarcia, stimulates excitement and excesses”, he said.
Elsewhere, Lira said that the Chamber wants to present itself as a “bridge of peace between the Judiciary and the Executive”. “This is the role we want to play now. The Chamber of Deputies is open to conversations and negotiations to calm us down, so that we can return to the real Brazil, which suffers from the weight of gas, for example. The Chamber presents itself as an engine of pacification. In discord everyone loses. But Brazil and our history have even more to lose. Our country was built with unity and solidarity, and there is no recipe for overcoming the serious socioeconomic crisis without these elements. This House has prerogatives that are still alive, and it wants to continue voting and approving what is in the public interest. And he extends his hand to the other Powers, so that they turn to work, ending the misunderstandings. Finally, it is worth remembering that we have our Constitution, which will never be torn down”, he affirmed.
