Chamber President affirmed that this is not the time for ‘institutional breakdowns’ and defended talks for policy stabilization
The president of the Chamber of Deputies, Arthur Lira (PP-AL), commented on Friday, 10, the declaration to the nation released by the president Jair Bolsonaro (no party). The congressman asked that the letter from the head of the Executive be an “opportunity to start over” and said that it was not the time for “institutional breakdowns”. Lira also recalled that every republican institution or power only exists to serve the country. “We have an obligation at this moment to work in harmony to end the pandemic, reduce unemployment, solve the precatories, which can affect public investments. This is no time for institutional breakdowns. May the president’s letter be an opportunity to restart conversations to stabilize politics in the life of the Brazilian people”, wrote the deputy on social networks. The president of the Senate, Rodrigo Pacheco (DEM-MG), also commented on Bolsonaro’s initiative this Wednesday and stated that the declaration “goes towards what most Brazilians expect”.
