Team will face Flamengo this Sunday, 21, at 16 hours, for the penultimate round of the Brazilian Championship
A Military police arrested three people in the early hours of Sunday, 21, for “disturbance of peace” in Copacabana, in the southern Rio de Janeiro. The three were responsible for triggering two batteries of fires near the hotel where Internacional’s delegation is located, in Leme. In the afternoon, the team from Rio Grande do Sul faces Flamengo at Maracanã in the game that can decide the Brazilian title.
The fires broke out in two moments, around 3 am. Police officers from the 19th BPM intercepted the vehicle that those responsible used to try to escape. They were referred to the 12th Police Station, also in Copacabana, for registration. Despite the fires, the weather in the region where the hotel is located was quiet on Sunday morning. On Saturday afternoon, Inter fans made a small crowd in front of the venue to welcome the team. Flamengo and Internacional face each other this Sunday, at 4 pm, for the penultimate round of the Brazilian Championship. Leader of the championship with 69 points, the team from Rio Grande do Sul will be Brazilian champion after 41 years if they beat their rival in Rio at Maracanã.
