Third dose will be applied to those who have completed the immunization at least six months ago
O Ministry of Health announced this Friday, 24, that it approved the application of a third booster dose of the vaccine against the Covid-19 in health professionals. Previously, only seniors over 70 and immunosuppressed could receive an extra dose, according to the folder. The announcement was made by the minister Marcelo Queiroga through social networks. “We have just approved the booster dose for health professionals, preferably with Pfizer, starting six months after full immunization. This is already the biggest vaccination campaign in the history of Brazil”, said Queiroga.

Vaccination of the other two publics was released by the government as of September 15th. For the elderly, the booster dose was allowed as long as the second dose was received more than six months ago. Immunosuppressed (people with HIV, who have undergone organ or bone marrow transplants, or with other problems that weaken the immune system) may receive the extra dose if they have completed the vaccination schedule for at least 28 days. In São Paulo, health professionals could receive the third dose in the ‘xepa’ of vaccines.
