NASA has released a video of their rover landing on Mars. NASA researchers say the rover, also known as the ‘Purse Virens’, landed on the asteroid and recorded air recordings with different sounds. The rover dropped an orange parachute before landing. Scientists say the camera in the rover was able to capture air noises. But as the rover landed on Mars, a microphone was found to be out of order. They said the sound of wind was heard for 10 seconds. Camera lead engineer Dave Gruel said the recording was sent to Earth. Michael Watkins, director of the NASA Jet Propulsion Lab, said the rover had touched down a crater named Zero, which was dusting on Mars, capturing airborne noises as it landed. It’s going to be an imaging video. It lasts 3 minutes 25 seconds.
NASA launched the rover on July 30 last year. The company said it expects to send more such videos in the near future.
