After the siege of the building, police forces were deployed on all floors. The media was let out of the building, although Nika Melia’s supporters and activists remained there until the end.
Nika Melia, the party chairman, addressed the supporters before the arrest and called on them to resist non-violently.

I do not see the political will needed for better elections – interview with the new director of ISFED
Nino Dolidze is the new head of ISFED. After eight years at the International Republican Institute (IRI), he will replace Elene Nizharadze, who was ousted by the organization after a mistake in the 2020 parliamentary elections.
RFE / RL spoke to Nino Dolidze and asked her how she assesses what happened, what steps she plans to take to gain confidence and what experience she will bring to her new position.
The new head of the organization says that ISFED set a fairly high standard when responding to a mistake made in counting the results of the parliamentary elections.
“The problem in this case was more delay in informing the public and that is exactly why the organization took responsibility. For the same reason, the issue of dismissal of the director was raised. The technical error was of the PVT group and you could not break it on one person as it happened, ”said Nino Dolidze in an interview with Radio Liberty.
