The Minister Nunes Marques, do Federal Supreme Court (STF)) revoked the injunction granted by him that authorized the realization of services and masses during a pandemic Covid-19. The information was released by the Court on Thursday night, 15. In the original decision, the minister authorized religious practices as long as sanitary protocols were followed. The decision was the subject of debate at the Plenary, where the ministers disagreed with Nunes Marques’ understanding and maintained the temporary restrictions on religious activities after the vote ended with a score of 9 to 2. In addition to Nunes Marques, only Dias Toffoli voted for the authorization of practices. When revoking the injunction, the minister reaffirmed his “contrary personal understanding on the issue” and stated that he decided to revoke the decision out of respect for the determination of the Plenary.
