Arthur Lira, Marcelo Ramos, Carla Zambelli and Gil Diniz are among the politicians who demonstrated after the episode
Parliamentarians reacted to the arrest of deputy Daniel Silveira, which took place on Tuesday, 16, after a decision by the minister of Supreme Federal Court, Alexandre de Moraes. The determination of the arrest in flagrante delicto, for unspeakable crime, came after the politician published a video in which making attacks, cursing and swearing at the STF ministers, especially the minister Edson Fachin. “Over and over again I have imagined you (Fachin) taking a beating. How many times have I imagined you and all the members of that court there. How many times have I imagined you, on the street taking a beating. What are you going to talk about? That I’m fomenting violence? No, I just imagined it. Even if I foresaw, it still wouldn’t be a crime, you know it wouldn’t be a crime. You are a poor lawyer, but you know that minimum is predictable. So any citizen who conjectures a good beating on his face with a dead cat until he meows, preferably after a meal, is not a crime, ”he said in the video published on social networks.
After the event, the president of the Chamber of Deputies, Arthur Lira, said that the House should not reflect the will or position of an individual, but of the collective of its collegiate, its instances and its sovereign will, the Plenary. In social networks, Lira classified the event as a moment of great apprehension and reiterated that she will conduct the episode with serenity and awareness of the responsibilities of the position she holds for the institution and democracy. The deputy promised to be guided by the Constitution and dialogue and respect for the majority opinion of the institution he represents. The situation should be discussed in the coming hours.
Deputy Mayor, deputy Marcelo ramos, recalled that the second paragraph, of article 53 of the Constitution, determines that the records relating to Daniel Silveira’s arrest must be forwarded to the House within 24 hours. According to Ramos, only then will parliamentarians decide, by majority, on whether or not to keep the prison. The deputy of the PL do Amazonas pointed out that Silveira’s statements in relation to the STF are absolutely objectionable to the Judiciary, which, according to Ramos, has defects, but symbolizes Democracy together with the Legislative and the Executive. Marcelo Ramos stressed that the issue to be debated is about the characterization of the flagrant who justified the arrest, defended a serene and technical debate about the case and argued that the trial should not be about who spoke and what was said, but about the existence or not from the act. According to the vice president of the Chamber of Deputies, the decision of the majority of the members of the House will generate a precedent, guiding future decisions in similar cases.
In addition to members of the board of directors, other politicians also demonstrated after Silveira’s arrest. On twitter, Carla Zambelli he recalled that the “plenary is sovereign” and wished his colleague strength. State deputy Gil Diniz also used social media to declare support for Daniel Silveira after the “disgusting decision by Alexandre de Moraes”. He asked for a position from the Federal Senate on the minister’s alleged attack “to every Congress”. “A lot of strength, Daniel,” he wrote in the publication.
All my support to the Federal Deputy! Nasty decision by Alexandre de Moraes! What this Minister is trying to cause is instability in the country. The Federal Senate needs to take a stand against this attack on the parliamentarian and the entire congress!
A lot of strength, Daniel!
– Gil Diniz (@carteiroreaca)
If there was a warrant, there was no blatant. If there is a flagrant, there is no need for a warrant.
How nice to have a calm and firm Mayor. Plenary is sovereign.
Stay strong,, we are with you.
