The Minister of Health, Eduardo Pazuello, met this Wednesday, 17th, with the governors to present the delivery schedule, the amount of vaccines against Covid-19 and contracts for the purchase of more immunizers. The meeting was requested on January 31, which is since when state commanders expect a detailed schedule of how the government plans to distribute the vaccines. According to the minister, 230.7 million doses will be delivered by July 2021. “We will total up to July 31, almost 231 million doses of vaccines against Covid-19, that is, enough to provide protection for the population against this disease, ”said Pazuello.

At the virtual meeting, the minister informed that the next deliveries will take place in February. THE Ministry of Health awaits 2 million doses of AstraZeneca/Oxford, which will be imported from India, and 9.3 million from CoronaVac, developed by Sinovac and at Butantan Institute, in Brazil. In March, 16.9 million of the AstraZeneca vaccine and 8 million more doses of the Butantan vaccine are expected to arrive. The government is also negotiating with the laboratories Chemical Union/Gamaleya, which produces the Russian vaccine Sputnik V, and Precis / Bharat Biotech, which produces the Indian Covaxin. Both contracts are expected to be signed later this week.

May: 28.6 million (domestic production with imported IFA)
June: 28.6 million (domestic production with imported IFA)
July: 3 million (domestic production with imported IFA)

Total first semester: 112.4 million doses

National production will be carried out by the Oswaldo Cruz Foundation. According to the Ministry of Health, as of the second semester, with the incorporation of raw material production technology (IFA), Fiocruz should deliver over 110 million doses, with 100% national production.

The ministry points out that, by September, more than 22.3 million doses of the vaccine will be delivered, totaling the 100 million contracted by the portfolio
