According to ex-governor of Rio de Janeiro Sérgio Cabral, STF minister would have received R $ 4 million to favor two mayors of the State in proceedings in the TSE
The Minister of Supreme Federal Court, Dias Foffoli, may become the target of an investigation into alleged illegal transfers that it would have received. On Tuesday, the 11th, the Federal police forwarded a request to the Court to open an investigation, based on the award-winning collaboration agreement of the former governor of Rio de Janeiro Sérgio Cabral. According to Cabral, Toffoli would have received R $ 4 million to favor two mayors of the State in lawsuits in the Superior Electoral Court. The former governor said that payments would have been made in 2014 and 2015 for Hudson Braga, former Secretary of Works of Rio de Janeiro. The complaint indicates that the transfers would have involved the office of Toffoli’s wife, the lawyer Roberta Rangel. Such a situation would fit as a crime of passive corruption. Through his advice, Minister Dias Toffoli said he was unaware of the facts mentioned and denied having received illegal values. He also said that he did not act to favor anyone in the exercise of his position in the Brazilian judiciary.
