Revoking the decision that barred the entry of Brazilian tourists into the country until the end of September, Portugal started to accept travelers from the country without the obligation of quarantine because of the Covid-19. Now, it will only be necessary to present RT-PCR type tests carried out up to 72 hours before boarding or a rapid antigen test carried out 48 hours before the tourist enters the plane. Children under the age of 12 do not need to present the document. The decision was published in the Diário da República of the European country this Wednesday, 1st, and is valid until the next 16th of September, and may be revised if the epidemiological situation of the countries changes. In addition to presenting the test, before boarding, Brazilian passengers must complete a form with personal data and detail the airline, flight and seat number, and the date and time they arrived in the country. The measure should help in monitoring new cases of the disease.

Another option for entering the country is the presentation of a digital certificate of vaccination from the European Union. The document, however, is not issued to Brazilians. The entry of Brazilians for tourism in the place has been prohibited since March 2020. Before the decision was published in the Diário da República, only those traveling on business or studying could enter the country. According to the platform Our World In Data, Portugal has 73.1% of the population fully vaccinated with the two doses, which corresponds to 7.51 million people. Since the beginning of the pandemic, the country has registered 1.04 million cases and 17,700 deaths caused by Covid-19. THE Young pan contacted the Portuguese Ministry of Foreign Affairs to seek more information about the permit, but has not received any feedback so far.
