Putin has no plans to attend the UN General Assembly

Russian President Vladimir Putin is not scheduled to attend the UN General Assembly this week. President Putin remains in solitary confinement after cases of Covid 19 infection were confirmed in his circle last week.

To attend indoor events at the UN General Assembly, participants must demonstrate that they have received at least one dose of the Covid-19 vaccine. The World Health Organization has not authorized the Russian vaccine “Sputnik-V”.

The Russian government has condemned UN regulations regarding attendance. The Russian ambassador called the measures “clearly discriminatory.”

A Kremlin spokesman said Moscow had not yet decided whether President Putin would attend the assembly remotely.
