Due to illegal access and also due to the serious security risk for those involved, ICMBio contacted the MPF and the Fire Department
Religious were wearing a shirt with the words ‘Army of Christ’, playing music and instruments
The Chico Mendes Institute for Biodiversity Conservation (ICMBio) decided to fine religious people who made illegal camp at the peak of the Finger of God, in the Rio de Janeiro. The mountain is a reference in the city of Teresópolis, in the Serrana region. The case took place in early September. Two men descended to the scene and in a helicopter and began to promote religious rituals. Everything was published on social networks, which helped in the investigation of this case. The religious were wearing a shirt with the words “Army of Christ”, they were playing music, instruments and even the so-called “trumpet of the apocalypse”. Because of the illegal and unauthorized access to the summit of Dedo de Deus, which is located in the Serra dos Órgãos National Park, and also due to the serious security risk for those involved, ICMBio contacted the Federal Public Ministry and the Corps of Firefighters. After an internal discussion, the entities decided to remove the two religious who had illegally accessed the site.
