Bosnian Muslims boycott elections in eastern Bosnia and Herzegovina on 21 February. They believe that the government has not taken measures to prevent a recurrence of irregularities identified during the November elections.

Following the November elections, ethnic Serbs dominated. However, the Bosnian Central Election Commission (CEC) concluded that the irregularities undermined the legitimacy of the voting results. Violations included multiple voting and pre-selection of ballots.

Bosnian Muslims also claimed that officials had used mail voting to rig the election. They said that the votes cast by mail were not delivered to officials at the polling station.

Despite a boycott of Bosnian Muslims, a representative of the Bosnian Serb party said he had won a run-off local election in Srebrenica. In the city of Doboi, the incumbent mayor declared himself the winner. The Central Election Commission has confirmed the victories of both Mladen Gruicic and Boris Ierenich.
