Schools were closed during the extended recess period – from Friday, March 26, to Sunday, April 4
The Municipality of Rio de Janeiro has already appealed to the court decision that prevented the resumption of face-to-face classrooms in the capital of Rio de Janeiro this week. The preliminary injunction was granted to a group of deputies and councilors of left-wing parties: PSOL, PT and PCdoB. They claim that, without a vaccine, face-to-face classes pose a risk for teachers, students and education professionals. Schools were out of class during the extended recess period – from Friday, March 26, to Sunday, April 4.
The schools in the municipality were organizing themselves to open the doors of the classrooms again this Tuesday, the 6th. It was a Monday, the 5th, very tumultuous and confusing – especially in private schools in the city. Many schools opened, welcomed students and looked forward to a new pronouncement of Justice. It is worth remembering that, before the super recess, about a third of the schools in the municipality had classroom and partial classes – 419 out of a total of 1,543 units.
