O Special Committee to Combat Covid-19 of the Municipal Health Department recommends the full return of face-to-face classrooms in all public and private schools of the Rio de Janeiro. Experts considered the improvement in the city’s epidemiological scenario, which they said would help return to schools without major risks. Still, some rules need to be followed, students will need to wear a face mask to protect against the new coronavirus and school environments will need to be ventilated. “This is a victory for science, which has been advancing a lot with vaccination, and a victory for education, as we increasingly want our students in our schools, where they can eat properly, with a dish of decent food, learning in the best way possible, having social and emotional support, and several other situations that only the school can offer”, says the municipal secretary of Education, Renan Ferreirinha.
