The proposal is that the action includes people aged between 12 and 17 years old and starts in the second half of July; preliminary results of mass immunization on the island are positive
Mass vaccination in Paqueta Island, in the city of Rio de Janeiro, has positive preliminary data. According to sources from Young pan, the information has already started to be analyzed and, next week, will be discussed with the Scientific Committee of the municipality, which has been providing assistance to the management of Eduardo Pais during the Covid-19 pandemic. Data are being evaluated for future interventions and measures to be adopted for the entire state capital. The idea is that in the second half of July, in Paquetá, the city hall will start a mass vaccination campaign for teenagers from 12 to 17 years old. The results should help the municipality of Rio de Janeiro in the vaccination campaign, which currently only covers adults. Pfizer is the vaccine authorized by the National Health Surveillance Agency (Anvisa) for use in minors. However, the mass immunization in Paquetá adopted the Oxford vaccine. The campaign was inspired by the case of Serrana, a municipality in São Paulo that received a study with the CoronaVac.
