In the Engenheiro Marsilac neighborhood, in the extreme south of the capital, thermometers marked -1ºC; Friday may have a new cold record
The city of São Paulo had the coldest dawn of the year this Thursday, 29. The thermometers of the automatic meteorological stations of the Emergency Management Center (CGE) registered an average of 4.7ºC. In the Engenheiro Marsilac neighborhood, in the extreme south of the capital, the temperature was -1ºC. Before that, the lowest temperature of the year had been registered on July 20, with 5.4ºC. According to the CGE, there is expectation for a new cold record on Friday, 30, with thermometers marking 3ºC during the night and a maximum of 15ºC in the afternoon. Neighborhoods further away from the expanded center may reach freezing temperatures. However, the cold front should start to lose steam early next week.
