The country, which has avoided the closure of commercial sectors and the adoption of stricter restrictions for the population, discusses the imposition of new health rules
A Sweden became the main focus of contagion of the coronavirus in Europe, proportionally considering the size of the country and the number of new cases of Covid-19 registered. A few weeks ago, the Stockholm government passed rules in the local parliament to implement a lockdown and some restrictions on the movement of people around the country. The topic is controversial, since Sweden has taken a very different path from the rest of Europe, avoiding the closure of trade, schools and more severe restrictions on the population. The problem is that the attitude currently represents a significant increase in cases of the disease in the country. With the approval of restrictions already presented by the government, the discussion is about when the rules will be adopted in the country.
In addition to Sweden, other European countries are also suffering from the increase in cases and are discussing the implementation of curfew measures and traffic restrictions. In Germany, for example, Angela Merkel is under political pressure against lockdown imposed by the government. Some states in the country adopting their own quarantine easing measures. At the same time, in the UK, where vaccination is the most advanced of Europe, the government insists that the population remains alert with the high contamination. Although the national average shows a significant reduction in contamination, some locations point to an increase in contagion. For this reason, one of the heads of the medical team of the government of Boris Johnson asked, during a press conference this Friday, 26, that people do not put “everything to lose”, signaling that “it is not time to relax”.
