Parliament did not support the abolition of opposition mandates – assessments outside parliament
Parliament did not support the abolition of mandates for 51 opposition MPs. This was the only issue to be discussed at the spring session.
The first sitting of the parliament was held yesterday for two MPs of “Citizens”, Aleko Elisashvili and Levan Ioseliani. This is the third party to enter parliament so far. Yesterday, Aleko Elisashvili said that he and his fellow party members had “entered the parliament” head-on.
Will anyone else from the opposition enter the legislature? This question still remains open.
Lelo Secretary General Badri Japaridze yesterday advised the Georgian Dream to take steps to hold early elections and said that Lelo’s position in this direction is unchanged.
Giorgi Vashadze, the leader of Strategy Builder, commented on the ruling party’s decision to suspend the opposition MPs from power, saying that the next step of the Georgian Dream should be a concrete proposal acceptable to the opposition in order to reach an agreement.
Other announcements:
Tea Tsulukiani wrote Nika Gvaramia’s number to Aleko Elisashvili: If the elections were rigged, why are you here?
Former Minister of Justice and Member of Parliament Tea Tsulukiani addressed Aleko Elisashvili, the leader of the Citizens ‘Party, at his first sitting of the Parliament, after he said that he was ready to answer citizens’ phone calls as a member of parliament. That he can call him for consultations sometimes.
Thus, Tsulukiani announced Gvaramia’s phone number live, which was later criticized. Nika Gvaramia said that after this speech, the calls on his phone did not stop.
Whether Tea Tsulukiani violated the law will be investigated by the State Inspector’s Office. A statement issued by the inspector said that the purpose of the Law on Personal Data Protection is to protect a person’s personal data and privacy.
In addition, Transparency International Georgia believes that the negative campaign against Nika Gvaramia, the director and shareholder of the Main Channel, is a negative campaign against him.

Does the government support Iveri Melashvili in the moral court?
Various actors, including public officials, clerics, Kremlin, ultranationalist actors, and click-through sites with IP addresses registered in Russia, simultaneously, mostly in a coordinated manner, portrayed cartographers as traitors to the homeland.
This final study was published by the Media Development Foundation on February 1st. The first visible result of the online hatred campaign soon followed – in a public space, in a hardware store, a young man called Iveri Melashvili a traitor and a salesman. The video was soon circulated among pro-government and ultranationalist groups, thanking a young man, Bakar Adamia, for this behavior. Iveri Melashvili’s lawyer, Giorgi Mshvenieradze, blamed the government for arranging a “moral court” for an innocent man. The next day after the incident, MP Giorgi Volski said that Iveri Melashvili was specially “held” in crowded places in order to be insulted and then, if the court found him guilty, to be used by his defense.
How has the campaign against cartographers shifted from virtual space to public space, and is the moral court government supporting the recently released defendants? Read more about Nastasia Arabic in the article.
