Truckers protest this Friday, 5, against the measures adopted by the governor of the State of São Paulo, João Doria. The demonstration takes place, at that moment, in at least two points of the city, with a ban on Marginal Tietê, towards Ayrton Senna Highway, which has 10km of congestion. In the South Zone of São Paulo, protests take place at the Varginha Terminal. Protesters complain about the return of Red Stage of the São Paulo Plan, which is more restrictive. The new restrictions in the State come into force on Saturday, 06, with the objective of curbing the transmission of the coronavirus and reducing the number of hospitalizations, cases and deaths by Covid-19.
The protests cause congestion around the Marginal, mainly at the height of the Ponte dos Remédios, the main focus of the demonstration. At the moment, only cars are able to pass through one of the freed lanes, while trucks are prevented from traveling. The police are trying to negotiate the release of the remaining roads. The demonstrations also cause reflections on other roads that connect the interior of the State to the capital of São Paulo. The main reflection is on the Castello Branco Highway, where traffic starts before the Alphaville toll. Considering the situation, the Traffic Engineering Company (CET) suspended the municipal vehicle rotation in Sao Paulo. At this moment, according to the agency, in addition to the Marginal Tietê, other main corridors, such as Radial Leste, also register congestion and face reflexes of the stoppage.
