The plight of people and businesses with power cuts

New York: A blizzard has been pounding America for the past few days. So far 20 people have died due to the storm. The states of Texas, Oklahoma, Tennessee and Illinois were shaken by the blizzard. The situation in Texas has gotten even worse. Authorities say up to 20 people have been killed so far this month due to heavy snowfall. On the other hand, power cuts are making people more vulnerable. The power cuts have affected about 40 lakh homes and shops.

People are confined to their homes due to dense snow accumulation on the roads. Authorities were unable to meet the demand due to high power consumption due to the snowfall. Officials say it would be better to cut off the power supply to prevent the power system from collapsing. Hospital services are being disrupted due to power cuts and are looking for alternatives. In Texas, meanwhile, officials say they have restored electricity to six million homes, commercial and businesses. Sixteen people were killed when 130 cars crashed in Texas last week.
