EBCCongress approved a text, which almost triples the amount for the electoral fund

O National Congress approved the Budget Guidelines Law (LDO) of 2022 this Thursday, 15. The report establishes rules for the preparation of next year’s Budget. At Chamber of Deputies, the text was approved with 278 votes in favor and 145 against, while in the Senate, the vote went from 40 to 33. With the approval by Congress, the text will proceed to the President’s approval Jair Bolsonaro (no party). One of the main points of the LDO is in the forecast and expansion of the budget for the Special Fund for Campaign Financing, which will be R$ 5.7 billion, an amount almost three times greater than that registered in the 2020 elections, when the amount was R$ 2 billion. The project’s rapporteur also included a mechanism that aims to protect bodies and programs such as Embrapa and the Census of possible budget blockages. The text also kept the minimum wage at R$1,147 and a deficit of R$170 billion in public accounts.
